Take to the high seas in a kayak! Kayak Mendocino offers just this opportunity with professionally guided sea cave tours that leave daily from Van Damme State Park. Intrepid paddlers will explore the marine and avian life that inhabit the coastal nooks and crannies while safe atop the clear shallow blue-green Pacific.
Harbor seals, oystercatchers, gulls, terns, and sea stars are just some of the sights paddlers will glimpse as they glide in and out of narrow sea caves and coves.
All tours are easily paddled by beginners and require no prior experience, as Van Damme is a special place offering protection and channels in either direction. Kayak Mendocino stays within these areas to insure a smooth ride, while still being able to observe wave action on outer reefs. These tours are time-tested and have been safely and happily paddled by thousands of people over the last 15 years.
Tours leave Van Damme State Park at 9:00 AM, 11:30 AM, and 2:00 PM, please call in advance to reserve. All necessary equipment is provided including a wetsuit, booties, life jacket, and helmet. Kayak Mendocino has also recently started offering Stand Up Paddle Tours. For more information please visit StandUpPaddleMendocino.com.
